The day trip was perfect. The itinerary and pace were ideal but what made the trip perfect was our guide. While I'm sure all of the guides are great, Stephen Johnson made the day for us. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and depth of engagement with all of us on the trip is likely unmatched by any other. Stephen is the person you want sit down with, enjoy a glass of wine, and talk about anything and everything. He's your friend the moment you're introduced. I highly recommend Platypus to all.

The tour in every way was sensational beginning with the weather. Our bus arrived early and after one more pickup we were on our way to wine heaven. The weather was absolutely PERFECT, our bus was comfortable and our group was very friendly. We drove through rows and rows of grape vines from Winery to Winery. As we drove and during each Winery visit our very knowledgeable and experienced driver/tour guide shared his amazing knowledge and experience of wine. Gary explained every step of the process from soil to the delicious nectar of the grapes being poured into our glasses. The Tour was without any doubt a truly wonderful experience. I very strongly recommend Platypus Tours for anyone looking to enjoy the Napa Wine Country.

The van ride to our 3 wineries was great and our driver was good as well. We loved the first winery, the servers, the wine and the tasting room. The second winery was inside a beautiful tasting room and our server was awesome, but the wine was ok. Lunch was really good! The 3rd winery was cramped, uncomfortable seating and the wine was so, so. Overall it was a nice experience, but probably would just do our own picking of wineries and tastings next time.

James was an excellent driver and guide! The 3 wineries we visited- Saddleback, Ghost Block Estates and Haegan were varied and interesting. We had a wonderful interactive group which made the tour even better! Note: you are charged a wine flight fee at each vineyard unless you purchase 2 or more bottles of wine at each one.

We toured three smaller wineries. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the area and its history and pointed out areas of interest along the way. Definitely had a great time, and can’t recommend this activity enough. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Chris our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour enjoyable. Hearing all the stories of the vineyard owners really enhanced the experience. I recommend this tour.

I have no problem giving Platypus 5 stars for a wonderful day in Napa Valley. Our driver Casey picked us up from our hotel at 10:25 and we were quickly on our way to the first vineyard. We were in a ‘limo’ style bus in a small party of 14 and visited 3 wineries and had great commentary from Casey. Lunch was described as a picnic but I have to say that Platypus did a great job here too with a really tasty meal that did a great job of soaking up all the wine 😉 Dropped back at the hotel at 17:30 after a wonderful day of great company and wonderful wines. When I return to Napa I’ll definitely be going out again on the Platypus bus extravaganza 😎
