Start by meeting your guide at Cafe Odette. From there, you’ll see the highlights of Île de la Cité, including Notre Dame and the Conciergerie. After a tour of the Sainte-Chapelle exterior, where you’ll hear about the Gothic architecture and rose window, step inside the UNESCO World Heritage site with your guide. You’ll immediately see the incredible stained glass windows. Admire each of the 1113 medieval windows, depicting scenes from the bible. Take snaps of light filtering through the multicoloured windows. Built in the 13th century, Sainte-Chapelle was a royal chapel used by the French monarchy. It housed holy relics owned by Louis IX, including the crown of thorns.
Our tour guide Alexander was amazing. He gave us the right amount of information to make it interesting but not lose your interest. The timing was great and everything went smoothly.
Very informative tour - of the chapel as well as time period and other relevant area landmarks. Alex was a great guide. We highly recommend this tour.
