I chose to see the highlights in the museum. Having a private guide (Monty) is definitely much better than just going to the Louvre - you learn so much more and the visit is much more memorable. I have two recommendations for future visitors: 1) bring your own water (I didn't know you couldn't get it anywhere and was super dehydrated in the end) and 2) choose specific things you want to visit - either paintings, sculptures, Louis xiv living spaces, Egyptian antiques, Mesopotamian antiques, etc. - I would choose 2. Because otherwise you are rushing through everything and you don't have the time to stop and really hear the stories (which are extremely interesting). I personally loved paintings and the Mesopotamian antiques.
It was the most enjoyable experience with a wonderful, knowledgeable young man, Alex. It made all the difference in a complicated, crowded Louvre. Worth every dollar.
Excellent tour with extremely knowledgeable guide. Thank you so much!
Sabine was excellent. Very informative, friendly and a great sense of humour. We asked many questions and she was very knowledgeable.. Highly recommend!
We were very lucky to take this tour with Justine. She was incredibly knowledgeable and knew the Louvre really well. She made sure we got to to see all the must sees at the Museum, which was a priority for us, and was also concerned in accommodating any specific interests we had. We left with a feeling that we were extremely lucky to have been able to explore the Louvre in depth and have a complete overview of the museum in just about 3 hours. Would recommend this to anyone coming to Paris, especially those visiting the Louvre for the first time.
Blerta was a great guide. Kept in touch with us about where to meet and what time, taught us many things while somehow not making us bored at all! She told humorous jokes and was fantastic at getting us to the front of the crowds. She not only took us to the famous and popular spots in the museum, but also the “hidden gems” and explained the history of the Louvre brilliantly.
