Visit a renowned Champagne house and a smaller, family-owned winery or cooperative, discovering contrasting styles of Champagne through multiple tastings, and enjoy a traditional French lunch paired with Champagne, accompanied throughout the day by a wine expert guide. Your day begins with pickup from your hotel in central Paris. Meet your guide and settle into a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan. On the way to the Champagne region, enjoy fresh croissants while your guide shares insights and stories about Champagne, the region, and its traditions. Once in Champagne, you will start with a guided visit to a major Champagne house (such as Mumm, Veuve Clicquot, Moet & Chandon, Mercier, Pommery, Lanson, or Nicolas Feuillatte). Explore the cellars, learn about the production process, and enjoy your first tasting. Then, take a scenic drive through the vineyards as you head to the lunch location. Along the way, your wine expert guide will lead a tasting in the middle of the vines and talk more about the terroir and winemaking techniques unique to the region. Lunch is served at either a family-run Champagne house or a quality local restaurant, where you will taste different styles of Champagne, like Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, Rosé, or ratafia (a sweet local liqueur, when available), paired with a meal of classic French cuisine. In the afternoon, you will visit a second producer (either a family estate or a cooperative) to discover a different approach to Champagne production. Of course, this visit ends with another tasting! At the end of the day, you will be dropped off in central Paris (for small group tours), or at your hotel if you selected the private tour option, a perfect way to wrap up a sparkling day in Champagne.
We loved this tour experience! Cedric was extremely knowledgeable about the region as well as the wine industry as a whole so he was able to give us even more insight during the drive through the countryside. Having the opportunity to experience three different sizes of producer was unique but very enjoyable for us.
We had the most amazing day, with the most knowledgeable guide who made it so much fun! Our group was awesome, had such a brilliant day out learning sooooo much about Champagne! We were lucky to go to Mumm and a couple of smaller champagne houses, and drank a lot of champagne!
A most pleasurable experience of the Champagne region & the history of champagne production. It was made better by a few surprise stops in Riems to view the Notre Dame cathedral, & Hauptvilliers where Dom Perignon is buried. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge & entertaining as well. Great trip. Highly recommended.
Had a lot of fun and our guide was excellent!!
Our day trip to Champagne was fantastic and I would highly recommend. Our guide Alex was friendly, very knowledgeable and the champagne houses we visited were perfect especially the smaller family owned and run.
Alexandre was a wonderful guide and so knowledgable about the region and the champagne. We had a great experience both at the larger and smaller, family houses, with an exceptional lunch as well. I highly recommend this tour!
