Welcome aboard for a shared, highly scenic boat transfer along the Lenno peninsula featuring VIP access to the gardens of Villa del Balbianello, one of Lake Como’s most iconic attractions. Departure from Lenno: one of the most charming and photographed villages on Lake Como. As you leave the pier, you will cruise along the shoreline through calm waters, alpine silhouettes, and postcard-perfect views, enjoying a privileged perspective of some of the lake’s most celebrated historic residences. Villa del Balbianello: the symbol of Lake Como You will reach Villa del Balbianello, built in 1785 at the request of Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini, on the tip of the Lavedo promontory, on the remains of an ancient Franciscan convent. Over time it became the residence of intellectuals and artists, until it was acquired by explorer Guido Monzino, who restored it and donated it to the FAI in 1988. The complex includes residential buildings, a church, an elegant lakeside portico, and a panoramic garden with breathtaking views. It is also famous worldwide as an international film location for productions such as Star Wars: Episode II and Casino Royale. Timetable rules To ensure a punctual experience for everyone, the tour runs on a strict schedule: Departures every 20 minutes from 10:00 to 16:40. In case of delay, we can not guarantee rescheduling the package to another time slot. Please fold strollers before boarding. Open strollers cannot be taken on board. Meeting point Lenno – Lungo Lago Guido Delmati 7, Lenno (CO)
This Villa garden is exceptional, with incredible views at every turn and level. Arriving by boat makes the experience extra special, you get a beautiful view from the lake and arrive fresh and calm. The 20min walk back through the grounds is easy, but if you struggle walking then you can return by boat and pay for that. Parking is limited in Lenno, so allow time to find a space if driving. The boat operator was incredibly helpful and understanding when we were delayed, a phone call and text conversation sorted a different time slot. We visited in late October, so perhaps easier than in high season, but I can't recommend or thank the boat operator enough.
parfait
Really easy and clear to access. Arrived earlier than my original booking and was offered to get on a boat at an earlier time. Really great way to see the backside of the Villa and avoid the walk up the hill.
Ferry from Varenna was not 45mins as indicated. Took 80mins. Had to run for the boat, just got on as it was leaving. Arrive on an earlier ferry even if you have to wait possibly 40mins.
