Experience two of London's most iconic royal traditions in one unforgettable tour. Watch the famous Changing of the Guard with an expert guide before stepping inside Buckingham Palace's magnificent State Rooms, open to visitors for only a limited period each year. Begin with a guided walk through the heart of Royal London as your guide shares fascinating stories of Britain's monarchy, royal traditions, and historic landmarks. Then, enjoy prime viewing of the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Depending on the official schedule, you'll witness either the Changing of the Foot Guards or the Changing of the Horse Guards, each showcasing centuries of military precision and pageantry. After the ceremony, enter Buckingham Palace with your pre-reserved ticket and explore at your own pace using the official audio guide. Wander through the spectacular State Rooms, adorned with glittering chandeliers, priceless artworks, and elegant furnishings still used today for royal receptions and state occasions. Along the way, admire highlights from the Royal Collection, including exquisite Sèvres porcelain and some of the world's finest English and French furniture, while discovering the stories behind the Palace, its history, and the Royal Family.
Disappointing experience, would not recommend this tour if your goal is actually watching the Changing of the Guard. With at least 100 people booked, we were split into groups of 15-20, and our headsets didn't work, forcing our guide to shout to be heard. To his credit, he was knowledgeable and did his best with what he had to work with (clearly not his fault). However, the tour itself had little to do with the Changing of the Guard. We watched the guards march in, then were led away from the crowds and given a history lesson while the actual ceremony was taking place just a short distance away. I understand this was likely done to avoid getting lost in the crowds, but it completely defeated the purpose of the tour. If you want to genuinely see the Changing of the Guard, watching for free from the crowd would be a better use of your time. The one upside was skipping the line for entry to the self-guided palace tour, which was a nice perk, but not enough to offset missing the main event
